Until now I did not do much with it and only had MacWrite, MacDraw and MacPaint installed.
Who knows, may be I will have more success.Īt least the Mac Plus core, although not perfect, gave me some satisfaction. There is a new kid on the block: the Atari ST/STE/. I will stop for the moment until someone send me some images proven to be working (jpegs excluded ).īut there is hope. It looks like Fusion took a wrong turn and went into fission which resulted in a meltdown. Regarding Fusion, as I mentioned previously, I could not find any information, download or commercial site. It is stated that if the preference file does not contain a Floppy line Basilisk will do its best to try the existing floppy drives but nothing happened. I also tried Basilisk II for Amiga but did not go too far: the syntax for describing drives was a little too much for me. The best results where a floppy with a ?, a floppy with a x or a sad Mac. I hit a wall and sadly quantum tunneling did not occurĪfter spending countless hours trying a gazillion ROMs, FD images, HD Images, using Amiga Forever to transfer files and also trying unsuccessfully to run a Mac with Amiga Forever, invoking the computer gods, making them offerings surrounded by burning incense I must admit it: I failed. Status of trying to run Mac on Amiga or "Les tribulation d'un Mac au pays de l'Amiga". In the 90s, I used ShapeShifter on an expanded A2000 with 040 and CV643D video board and it could easily outperform a similar spec MAC.Īs a former ShapeShifter user, I am VERY impressed with these MiSTer Minimig results. Having a Picasso or CGX video board really is ideal.
Different video drivers try to improve the efficiency of this conversion but typically have other visual tradeoffs or require an MMU. As you increase the refresh rate of the emulation, it uses more of the CPU.
When emulating a color MAC, there is a big performance loss in the emulation refreshing the framebuffer into AGA bitplanes. Yes (and no) as far as the performance loss. Yes, thanks rondc for letting us know this works now! I had tried ShapeShifter the past several times but was unsuccessful, so I think this is a nice milestone for the Minimig core. CPU is the same, so basically it's not CPU emulation but environment emulation, so performance loss shouldn't be big. It seems i have to try Mac emulator myself.
